Sanctified
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His goodness, faithfulness, and the salvation of our souls. And we praise
Him for He is higher than the highest, greater than the greatest, better than
the best, and He is worthy of our praise. Hallelujah.
Primary Text
“To
the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus…” 1
Corinthians 1v2 (NIV)
To
be sanctified means “to cleanse or set apart for sacred use; to declare or make
holy.” One Bible commentary writes “Sanctified means that we are chosen and set
apart by Christ for His service.” 1 Peter 2v9 (NIV) telling us “But you are a
chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God,
that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His
wonderful light.” By the Word of God, by our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,
and the continuing work of the Holy Spirit, we are sanctified. Beloved, have
you received Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior? By having faith in Christ,
we become sanctified (Acts 26v18) – set apart for sacred use, and declared holy.
We become children of God, sealed with the Holy Spirit of God, who carries out
a sanctifying work in our lives. Those who do not have the Spirit of Christ, do
not belong to Him, and cannot be sanctified. In fact, the person who is not
sanctified, would find it very difficult, if not impossible to be used by God,
because Romans 8v7-9 (NIV) in distinguishing between the Spirit controlled
person and the sin controlled person writes “the sinful mind is hostile to God.
It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the
sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are not controlled by the sinful
nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does
not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.” Do you seek to
please God and be used by Him? The first step, is to accept Jesus as Lord over
your life and be born again.
Supplementary Text
“May
God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole
spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The one who calls you is faithful and will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5v23-24
(NIV)
Prayer
Our
Heavenly Father, the King of glory, the Most High God, the I am that I am, the
One who is faithful and true, we honor You this day, and thank You for
sanctifying us unto Yourself. Thank You because we are called by Your name, and
we are Yours. We belong to You and we are grateful for this in Jesus name, amen.
