Our inheritance
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“In
whom also we have obtained an inheritance…” Ephesians 1v11 (KJV)
“In
Him we also were made [God’s] heritage (portion) and we obtained an
inheritance;…” Ephesians 1v11 (AMP)
The
dictionary describes an inheritance as: 1. something
that is or may be inherited; property passing at the owner's death to the heir
or those entitled to succeed; legacy. 2. the genetic characters transmitted
from parent to offspring, taken collectively; 3. something, as a quality,
characteristic, or other immaterial possession, received from progenitors or
predecessors as if by succession: an
inheritance of family pride. Fathers usually give an inheritance to their
children; in like manner, in Christ Jesus, we have received and obtained an
inheritance in God. Hallelujah. Romans 8v15-17 (NIV) says “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in
fear again; rather,
the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself
testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs —heirs of God and
co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may
also share in His glory.” So
because of Christ Jesus, we have received an inheritance in God. Praise the
Lord.
Prayer
Father, we give You
all the glory, honour and adoration. We thank You for not only saving us, but
also adopting us into the family of God. As if that was not enough, You also
gave us an inheritance by making us Your heir and co-heirs with Christ. We
truly are grateful and give You all honour and adoration in Jesus name, amen.
