Rejoice
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well
and bubbling in the Lord. Philippians 3v1 (King James Version) says “Finally,
my brethren, rejoice in the Lord….” God will have us to rejoice in
Him. Synonyms for rejoice include celebrate, cheer, exult, delight.
There are many reasons to celebrate in and because of the Lord. Psalm 118v15
(NIV) lets us know that “Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the
righteous: “The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!” “Now thanks be unto
God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh
manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place” (2 Corinthians 2v14,
KJV).
How many times have you called on a fellow
believer to testify of the mercies and goodness of the Lord? Indeed, there are
many reasons to celebrate in Him. We also have cause to cheer. Our God says “I
have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and
confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and
frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain,
undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm
you and have conquered it for you” (John 16v33, AMP).
What are you going through this day that
is getting you down and discouraged? The Lord said be of good cheer – He has
deprived the world of the power to harm you. So take courage, be confident, certain
and undaunted. Say to your soul – “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so
disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior
and my God” (Psalm 42v5, NIV). Furthermore, we can exult in the Lord – we have
cause to worship, praise, magnify Him – for the Lord is good and His mercies
endure forever. Indeed “… My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in
God my Saviour” (Luke 1v47-48, KJV). Finally, we can also delight ourselves in
the Lord. Psalm 37v4-5 (TLB) says “Be delighted with the Lord. Then He will
give you all your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust
Him to help you do it, and He will.”
Prayer
Our Father and our God, we thank You. We rejoice in
You this day. Our soul exalts You. You are Wonderful, Faithful and True. There
is none like You and none can compare with You. We love You. We appreciate You.
We honour You. We ask O Lord for the grace to always to rejoice in
You, no matter what trials and tribulations may come our way. Help us always to
see the Lord high and lifted, and to remember that all things are working
together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His
purpose. All this we ask in Jesus name, amen.
