Add Knowledge (3)
Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We continue our
study on developing knowledge in addition to our faith and virtue that we might
be productive, efficient, fruitful and useful (2 Peter 1v5). Given the importance of knowledge, it is not
surprising that God loves to give knowledge, Paul prayed for knowledge of God,
and also prayed continually for Christians to have it. Let’s see some
scriptural references to support this:
Proverbs 2:6 (KJV): “For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge
and understanding.”
Philippians 3:10 (AMPC): “[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may
progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving
and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and
more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power
outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I
may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into
His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope].”
Colossians 1:10 (TLB): “and asking that the way you live will always please the Lord and honor
him, so that you will always be doing good, kind things for others, while all
the time you are learning to know God better and better.”
Prayer
Father, we thank You for this day. We thank You for out of Your mouth
proceeds knowledge and understanding. We pray that we will come to know You better
and better. We pray that we may progressively become more deeply and intimately
acquainted with You, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders
of Your Person more strongly and more clearly in Jesus name, amen.
