Be Encouraged (2)
Dearly Beloved. I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. In Philippians 2:19 (AMPC), Paul writes, “But I hope and trust in the Lord Jesus soon to send Timothy to you, so that I may also be encouraged and cheered by learning news of you.” As believers, we need encouragement. Even as we receive encouragement from the Word of God and His promises, as well as His Holy Spirit, we also receive encouragement from one another. Hebrews 3:12-13 (AMPC) says “[Therefore beware] brethren, take care, lest there be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to cleave to, trust in, and rely on Him], leading you to turn away and desert or stand aloof from the living God. But instead warn (admonish, urge, and encourage) one another every day, as long as it is called Today, that none of you may be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [by the fraudulence, the stratagem, the trickery which the delusive glamor of his sin may play on him].” Hebrews 3:13 in particular is the verse upon which these daily encouragements stand.
If you think through your life, you will realize that
there are believers from whom you draw encouragement; Encouragement to keep the
faith, to take on a daunting task, to not be discouraged etc. in scripture too,
like with Paul and Timothy above, we find situations of people encouraging one
another. We are even encouraged sometimes by the life of another person. Child
of God, you are light. Do not underestimate your value in being able to be an
encouragement to others. Be encouraged from Ephesians 4:29 (NLT) which says “Don’t use foul or abusive
language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will
be an encouragement to those who hear them.” The KJV puts it this way “Let no
corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the
use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Amen.
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word and Your Spirit in
and with us. Thank You for the light You have made us to be. Open our eyes to
opportunities where we can be an encouragement to others and give us the grace
to take those opportunities. Help we ourselves to constantly be encouraged. In
Jesus name, amen.
