Only believe … break on daily encouragement
Hello everyone,
How are you doing
on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for a great and
wonderful 2014 thus far. This would be the final daily encouragement for 2014
until sometime next year. In advance I wish you a merry Christmas and an
awesome 2015. May the good Lord crown this year with His goodness.
Primary Text
“The Jesus said,
“Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”” John
11v40 (NIV)
I would like to
encourage us to take God at His Word, to hold on to Him and to believe in Him;
regardless of what you see and don’t see. It was said that Abraham believed God
and it was counted unto Him for righteousness (Romans 4v3). Of Mary, Elizabeth
said “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of
those things which were told her from the Lord.” (Luke 1v45, KJV). There was a
man named Jarius, who came to Jesus because his daughter was ill. As Jesus was
making His way over to see Jarius’ daughter, some people came and said, do not
bother the Master, your daughter is dead. Mark 5v36 (KJV) says “As soon as
Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He saith unto the ruler of the synagogue,
Be not afraid, only believe.” The Amplified says “Overhearing but ignoring what
they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be seized with
alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing.” The Living Bible puts it
this way “But Jesus ignored their comments and said to Jarius, “Don’t be
afraid. Just trust Me.”” Beloved, I don’t know what situation seems “dead” in
your eyes today – Don’t be afraid, trust God, keep on believing in Jesus. You
might have to ignore some comments but keep on believing, keep on holding on,
and keep on trusting God.
Supplementary Text
“(As it is
written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before Him whom he
believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be
not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that He might
become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall
thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, He considered not his own body now
dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of
Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was
strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what He
had promised, He was able also to perform.” Romans 4v17-21 (KJV)
