Waiting for the Lord
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary
Text
“May the Lord direct your
hearts into [realizing and showing] the love of God and into the steadfastness and
patience of Christ and in waiting for His return.” 2
Thessalonians 3v5 (AMP)
“May
the Lord bring you into an ever deeper understanding of the love of God and of
the patience that comes from Christ.” 2
Thessalonians 3v5 (TLB)
I
find this prayer – may God direct our hearts into the patient waiting for His
return – very relevant at this time. 2 Peter 3v3-4 (TLB) tells us “First, I
want to remind you that in the last days there will come scoffers who will do
every wrong they can think of and laugh at the truth. This will be their line
of argument: “So Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is he? He’ll
never come! Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained
exactly as it was since the first day of creation.”” Perhaps you already know
people who are saying this or these thoughts have crossed your mind already.
Beloved, may God direct our hearts into the patient waiting of our Lord Jesus
Christ. Indeed Philippians 3v17-21 (NLT) says “Dear brothers and sisters,
pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. For
I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that
there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of
Christ. They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag
about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. But
we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are
eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He will take our weak mortal
bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power
with which he will bring everything under his control.”
Prayer
Father
we thank You for Your Word. We thank You Lord Jesus for You are coming back for
Your church, Your bride. We pray that You will direct our hearts into
the steadfastness and patience
of Christ and in waiting for
His return in Jesus name, amen.
