Pray for one another
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“For
this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, …”
Colossians 1v9 (KJV)
“For
this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for
you….” Colossians 1v9 (NIV)
“For
this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and
make [special] request for you,” Colossians 1v9 (AMPC)
As
believers, it is important we pray for one another. We see this exemplified in
the life of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the early church. Luke 22v30-31 (KJV)
says “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you,
that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail
not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” What is our
reaction when we see something is not right with our brethren? What do we do
when we see someone going through a tough time? One thing that we cannot go
wrong with is prayer. We see Paul mentioning prayer over and over again.
Ephesians 6v18-19 (AMP) says “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season)
in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert
and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all
the saints (God’s consecrated people). And [pray] also for me, that [freedom
of] utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth to proclaim boldly the
mystery of the good news (the Gospel).” Let us begin to remember one another in
prayer.
Prayer
Father,
we thank You so much for Your word. We thank You for the power of prayer. We
pray for the Spirit of grace and supplication to be upon us in Jesus name,
amen. We pray that we will indeed uphold one another up in prayer to the glory
of Your name in Jesus name, amen.
