Run in
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“[For my determined
purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply
and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and
understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and
that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His
resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His
sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even]
to His death, [in the hope]” Philippians 4v10 (AMPC)
God desires intimacy
with us. He would like us to know not just about Him, but to know Him. There
was a point He came to the children of Israel after they left Israel at Mount
Zion –He wanted to speak with them. This time, Moses would not be the
intermediary. But they in terror shrunk back when they saw the smoky mountain. One
other place we see this shrinking back so clearly was at the Garden of Eden,
after Adam and Eve sinned. When God came to fellowship with them in the cool of
the evening, they hid themselves. They knew they had done something wrong. Many
prefer respectful reverence when God is seeking divine intimacy. God is our Father.
Fear, condemnation, sin, guilt e.t.c. sometimes keeps us from running to Him.
But Hebrews 4v12-14 (TLB) says “But Jesus the Son of God is our great High
Priest who has gone to heaven itself to help us; therefore let us never stop
trusting Him. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses since he had
the same temptations we do, though He never once gave way to them and
sinned. So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to
receive His mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.” Beloved,
it’s time to run to God not away from Him. Yes, running to Him and being
intimate with Him means He will expose your weaknesses and shortcomings, and
would demand that you live a holy life, but it would also mean Him working with
you, chastening you when you are wrong, helping you to live a righteous life
and having sweet, wonderful fellowship with your Father. Do not let anything
keep you away from Him! Talk to Him, seek His face – He desires to fellowship
with you.
Prayer
Our Father and our
God, we thank You for Your Word this day. Daddy, we run to You. We run to You
to expose our weaknesses and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We run to You
because we want to be intimate with You. We want to know You. Help us O God, in
Jesus name we pray, amen.
