Sensitive to the Spirit
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy]
Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit];
then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the
flesh (of human nature without God).” Galatians 5v16 (AMPC)
I thank
God for the Spirit of God who He has given to us, to be our Helper. The Holy
Spirit also does a great work in the life of the believer. For example, we are
told in Galatians 5v22-23 (AMPC) that “But
the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within
accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper,
forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control
(self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can
bring a charge].” However, we have a choice whether or
not to yield to Him or not. Romans 8v12-14 (AMPC) says that “So then, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh [we
are not obligated to our carnal nature], to live [a life ruled by the standards
set up by the dictates] of the flesh. For if you live according to [the
dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the
[Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening)
the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live
forever. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” Are you
allowing yourself to be led by the Spirit of God or are you ignoring His
promptings? If we do that,
then we will truly live. Thank God for the gift of the Spirit.
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for Your Word, we thank You for Your Spirit in us and with us. We
pray that we will continually walk and live habitually in the Holy Spirit. Holy
Spirit we pray that we will be responsive to You, be controlled and guided by
You that we will not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh. We thank
You and we honour You in Jesus name, amen.
