Do not be discouraged!!!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His lovingkindness and tendermercies. Beloved, this is an encouragement for
us to never be discouraged. Do not let discouragement set it – regardless of
what we see or do not see. Over the weekend, I had a conversation with a few
people and we were considering the life of Joseph and all that he went through.
Joseph
was a child who was well loved by his father, but resented by his brothers. At
a young age, he had dreams that he would become very great. His brothers
planned and got him sold into slavery, where he served in Potiphar’s house.
Later, he was accused of rape by Potiphar’s wife and was thrown into prison.
Eventually though, his gift of interpretation of dreams brought him before the
King, and he was made the prime minister of Egypt (see Genesis 37, 39 & 40-41).
What
can we learn from this? God was in control all the time. God had a plan all
along, just like He tells us in Jeremiah 29v11 that He has plans of peace and
not of evil for us. Child of God, do not give up. Hold onto what God has
promised you. Abraham did, David did, and they were victorious at the end. 1
Thessalonians 5v18 (NLT) says “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is
God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” Beloved, whatever you are
seeing or not seeing, please give thanks. God is in control. Joseph himself
told his brothers in Genesis 50v20 (ESV) that “As for you, you meant evil
against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many
people should be kept alive, as they are today.”
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for You are with us. Thank You for Your mercy. Father, help us to
remember that you are always working and help us to have that unbending trust
in You always in Jesus name, amen.
