Why Wait?
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for another day that He has made that we can rejoice and be glad in. Psalm
40v1-3 (AMP) says “I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord; and He
inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of
tumult and destruction], out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my
feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings. And He has put
a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear
(revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord.]”
What
a beautiful encouragement this is to us. God is able to take us out of any
trouble or hullaballoo that we find ourselves. All it requires is to wait for
Him – patiently and expectantly. Synonyms for wait include to stay, to hang
around, remain, linger, and hang on. Wait for God, wait patiently for Him. Wait
expectantly for Him. He will come through for you. He will put a song in your
mouth that expresses something different from the horrible pit you might be in
at the moment. He will answer you and let you be a testimony that others can be
encouraged for. Remember Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Daniel and all those that have
gone ahead of us. Even remember past events that have occurred in your life
that attest to this. But you have to wait on the Lord.
Psalm
5v11-12 (AMP) instructs us in this way “But let all those who take refuge and
put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because
You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your
name be joyful in You and be in high spirits. For You, Lord, will bless the
[uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with
You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).”
Hallelujah!!!
Prayer
Father,
what a joy to be called Your own. What peace we know from being able to talk to
You and come to You with everything and anything. Help us Lord to always wait
for You patiently, and expectantly. Thank You for lifting us up from the pit of
despair and out of the mud and mire. Thank You for setting our feet on solid
ground and steadying us as we walk along. Thank You for giving us a new song to
sing, even a hymn of praise to our God. Thank You for many will see what You
have done and be amazed, and will put their trust in You. Thank You so very
much O Lord. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
