A Good Testimony (2)

Dearly Beloved. I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. Apart from Timothy, another person whom Paul gives a good testimony about is Epaphroditus. Philippians 2:25 (NLT) says “Meanwhile, I thought I should send Epaphroditus back to you. He is a true brother, co-worker, and fellow soldier. And he was your messenger to help me in my need.” The AMPC puts it this way “However, I thought it necessary to send Epaphroditus [back] to you. [He has been] my brother and companion in labor and my fellow soldier, as well as [having come as] your special messenger (apostle) and minister to my need.”

The Philippians had sent Epaphroditus to Paul and he has been to him a true brother, co-worker and fellow soldier. Child of God, are you true to the tasks that are committed to you to do. Proverbs 26:6 (AMPC) shows the extreme case of someone who can’t be trusted to carry out a task by saying: “He who sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off the feet [of satisfactory delivery] and drinks the damage. [Prov. 13:17.]” Above all though, in whatever we are asked to do, or need to do, we should remember that we ultimately that it is the Lord God that we serve. Ephesians 6v5-8 (NLT) says “Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart. Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.
