Faithful God
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Now may the God of
peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body
be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God will make this
happen, for He who calls you is faithful.” 1 Thessalonians 5v23-24 (NLT)
The believer’s walk
with the Lord is a walk of faith. We know that even with salvation we are saved
by grace through faith, and that this salvation is a gift from God (Ephesians
2v8). Hebrews 11v6 (TLB) says “You can never please God without faith, without
depending on Him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a
God and that He rewards those who sincerely look for Him.” And we know as well
that the just shall live by His faith (Habakkuk 2v4). 1 Thessalonians 5v24
tells us that God is faithful and He will make this happen. What is this thing?
It is to make us holy and preserve our whole spirit, soul and body at the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Indeed, He alone is able to do this for us….
and we work with Him. Philippians 2v13 (TLB) says “For God is at work within
you, helping you want to obey Him, and then helping you do what He wants.” As
He is doing a work in us, we continue to yield to Him and submit to His leading.
Galatians 5v25 (AMP) says “If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by
the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward
walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]” Sometimes you may feel
like the worst sinner in the world, when you look at your life, or some actions
and thoughts. But Romans 8v1 (AMP) says “Therefore, [there is] now no
condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates
of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.” And it is good to
remain sensitive to the Spirit of God when He is pointing out that this is
wrong and that needs to be changed in your life. But the amazing thing is that
God gives us the power to change, and that as new creatures in Him, sin no
longer has any authority over us. And so, we yield to the Lord, giving every
part of us to be used as instruments of righteousness (Romans 6v13) and believe
Him to fulfil His promise of keeping us blameless until the coming of our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ – hallelujah!
Prayer
From Jude 1v24-25
(NIV) I pray “To Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you
before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God
our Savior, be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our
Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! In Jesus name, amen.
