Rouse yourself!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“AND
TO the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Sardis write: These are
the words of Him Who has the seven Spirits of God [the sevenfold Holy Spirit]
and the seven stars: I know your record and what you are doing; you are
supposed to be alive, but [in reality] you are dead. Rouse yourselves and keep
awake, and strengthen and invigorate what remains and is on the point of dying;
for I have not found a thing that you have done [any work of yours] meeting the
requirements of My God or perfect in His sight. So call to mind the lessons you
received and heard; continually lay them to heart and obey them, and repent. In
case you will not rouse yourselves and keep awake and watch, I will come upon
you like a thief, and you will not know or suspect at what hour I will come.”
Revelations 3v1-3 (AMP)
So
what do you do if you have the appearance of living, but are dead? The Lord
gives some instructions in these verses. He says - rouse yourself and keep
awake. 1 Thessalonians 5v6 (AMP) tells us “Accordingly then, let
us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us keep wide awake (alert, watchful,
cautious, and on our guard) and let us be sober (calm, collected, and
circumspect).” Let us wake up from every spiritual slumber. The Lord also says
to strengthen the things that are on the verge of dying – that little love for
God, that little time you still read the Word, praise and pray, that little
time of fellowship with the brethren, that little thing you are still doing but
would still die, strengthen it. He also says to go back to the lessons you have learned. Go back to the Word
of God. Obey the lessons you once heard. Don’t procrastinate coming back to
God. If you have been slacking off, or been luke warm, or been having the
appearance of being alive, but are dead, now is the time to seek the Lord, come
back and repent.
Prayer
Father
today, I thank You for Your Word. I repent of being double minded and not
following You completely. Today I come back to You. Keep me in You forever in
Jesus name, amen.
