Learning from Jehoshapath (4)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing
on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Then upon Jahaziel the son
of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a
Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the
congregation; And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of
Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not
afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not
yours, but God's.” 2 Chronicles 20v14-15 (KJV)
After Jehoshapath and the children of
Judah sought the face of the Lord, when a multitude of people from different
armies came to attack them, then the Lord hearkened and sent a word to them. He
told them several things, He said, don’t be afraid, don’t be dismayed by reason
of this great multitude. I recall when an army came against Elisha; 2 Kings
6v15-17 (KJV) saying “And when the servant of the man of God was risen early,
and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and
chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And
he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with
them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he
may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and,
behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about
Elisha.” May God open our eyes to see His awesomeness and His help for us.
Hallelujah. God also sent this message, for the battle is not
yours, but God’s. Amen.
Prayer
Omnipotent God, everlasting Father, the
King of kings, Mighty Jehovah, our Lord and our God, we honour You, we worship
You, You have never failed, You can never fail, You reign in majesty, You reign
above all gods. King of glory, Father You said Your eyes are upon us and Your
ears are attentive to our cries. Father, we thank You for You have hearkened to
our voice always, You have been our very present help in trouble. And now
behold O God every troubled situation that we are going through (…. Feel free to
insert specifics here), Father, I report it to You, I hand it over to You and
ask that the battle be Yours in Jesus name, amen.
