Joy unspeakable and full of glory
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well
and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary
Text
“But let all those who take refuge and put
their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You
make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be
joyful in You and be in high spirits.” Psalm 5v11 (AMP)
Not only does the Lord want us to rejoice
in Him always, He also wants us to have joy within us. One of the evidence of
the presence of the Spirit of God within us is joy (Galatians 5v22). Joy is
something that is given to us by God; it is not dependent on situations,
circumstances, what we have or do not have. Romans 15v13 (NLT) says “I pray
that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace
because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through
the power of the Holy Spirit.” When we have the joy of the Lord – we are
strong. Nehemiah 8v10 saying the joy of the Lord is your strength. Indeed, there
is something about when the heart is glad and rejoicing and full of joy and
hope and peace, you are able to face situations head on. Proverbs 17v22 (NIV)
says “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the
bones.” Of our Lord Jesus, it is
written, “You have loved righteousness [You have delighted in integrity, virtue,
and uprightness in purpose, thought, and action] and You have hated lawlessness
(injustice and iniquity). Therefore God [even] Your God (Godhead), has anointed
You with the oil of exultant joy and gladness above and beyond Your companions”
(Hebrews 1v9, AMP). So there is a joy
that comes about for the righteous, and those who put their trust in God and
take refuge in Him are encouraged to rejoice. Are you in need of joy today? Why
don’t You ask Him for it.
Prayer
Father God, we thank You for Your Word
this day. We thank You for Your joy which is our strength. Lord God Almighty,
giver of joy, we ask that You will fill us with joy unspeakable and full of
glory. We pray for a fresh infilling of Your Spirit and Your joy in Jesus name,
amen. May this joy be contagious and through it attract many to Your Kingdom in
Jesus name, amen.
