Our Preserver
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“I
will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and
Mount Moriah]—From whence shall my help come? My help comes
from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip or
to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He
who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your
right hand [the side not carrying a shield]. The sun shall not
smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your
life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from
this time forth and forevermore.” Psalm 121 (AMP)
God is our Preserver, our Shield and Protector.
As Psalm 121 shows, He preserves our going out, our coming in, our souls, our
bodies and so on. Indeed the Lord will keep you from all evil and He will keep
your life. God is able to preserve us for the purposes and plans He has for our
lives, and that is refreshing indeed. We know though that in the world we will
have tribulations, but the Lord has commanded us to be of good cheer for He has
overcome the world (John 16v33). Romans 8v35-37 (TLB) reassures us again by
saying “Who then can ever keep Christ’s love from us? When we have trouble or
calamity, when we are hunted down or destroyed, is it because He doesn’t love
us anymore? And if we are hungry or penniless or in danger or threatened with
death, has God deserted us? No, for the Scriptures tell us that for His sake we
must be ready to face death at every moment of the day—we are like sheep
awaiting slaughter; but despite all this, overwhelming victory is ours through
Christ who loved us enough to die for us.” I think of David who for a long
while was being chased by Saul, but God preserved and delivered him; enabling
him to become the king that he was anointed to be. Similarly, I think of our
Lord Jesus Christ, who from the time He was young, faced the threat of death.
But God preserved His life. Moses as well would have been killed from when he
was a child, but he was preserved. Perhaps, if you think back over your life,
you will remember that one accident, that one tough situation, that one xxxx where your life could have been
taken, but no – you are still alive. I thank God that He has preserved you thus
far, that you are still alive and well today and that He continues to preserve
you. I pray that His good purposes for your life will be accomplished in Jesus
name, amen.
Prayer
Our Father and
our God, we thank You so much for preserving us. Thank You for Your good
purposes for our lives. We pray that Your purpose for each of our lives will
come to pass in Jesus name, amen. Indeed, we call You our Shield, our Protector.
We thank You because we have set our love upon You, You will deliver us; You
will set us on high because we have known Your name. We shall call upon You and
You will answer us, You will be with us in trouble, You will deliver us and
honour us. With long life will You satisfy us and show us Your salvation. Thank
You so much o God. All this we pray in Jesus name, amen.
