Sons of God

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Happy new month. May the good Lord crown this year with His goodness for you and yours in Jesus name, amen.

Primary Text

“See how very much our heavenly Father loves us, for He allows us to be called His children – think of it – and we really are! But since most people don’t know God, naturally they don’t understand that we are His children. Yes, dear friends, we are already God’s children, right now, and we can’t even imagine what it is going to be like later on. But we do know this, that when He comes we will be like Him, as a result of seeing Him as He really is. And everyone who really believes this will try to stay pure because Christ is pure.” 1 John 3v1-3 (TLB)

One plan of the Most High God was to make us sons and heirs, and this was achieved through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. God’s Word tells us the following:

1.     “He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own – His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name – Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!].” John 1v11-13 (AMP)

2.      “But when the right time came, the time God decided on, He sent His Son, born of a woman, born as a Jew, to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law so that He could adopt us as His very own sons. And because we are His sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, so now we can rightly speak of God as our dear Father. Galatians 4v4-7 (NLT)

3.     “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.” Romans 8v14-17 (KJV)

Beloved, for those who have received Jesus and welcomed Him into their lives, we have become children of God, adopted into the family of God. God has revealed Himself to us through His Word. And we know that as children of God, we were born of God. It was His will to make us His children. It doesn’t matter how you feel about it, or what your experiences about your earthly father is, God loves you, and as a child, He loves you as He does Jesus, and has made you a co-heir with Jesus.

“I have given them the glory that You gave Me, that they may be one as we are one – I in them and You in Me – so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.” John John 17v22-23 (NIV)

Lord God Almighty, we thank You so much for the love You have shown us. Thank You for calling us Your children. Thank You for this great love in Jesus name, amen.
