The Believer’s Authority
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“For
whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory
that conquers the world, even our faith. Who is it that is victorious [that
conquers] the world but He who believes that Jesus is the Son of God [who
adheres to, trusts in, and relies on that fact]?” 1 John 5v4-5 (AMP)
As
children of God, who have put our trust in Jesus the Son of God, we become
conquerors and victors through Him. Romans 8v37 (AMP) says “Yet amid all these
things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him
Who loved us.” Hallelujah! We have the presence of God, His power, anointing
and His Spirit with us. Acts 10v38 (KJV) saying “How God anointed Jesus of
Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing
all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.” Indeed, our Lord
Jesus said “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
(Luke 10v19, KJV). As children of God, we are also able to exact dominion using
the name of Jesus. Philippians 2v9-11 (NIV) tells us “Therefore God exalted Him
to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at
the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the
earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of
God the Father.” Thank God for the authority believers have and the greater One
that is on the inside of us (1 John 4v4). Let us recognize, appreciate, and use
the power we have as believers.
Supplementary Text
“A
team of itinerant Jews who were traveling from town to town casting out demons
planned to experiment by using the name of the Lord Jesus. The incantation they
decided on was this: “I adjure you by Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!”
Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish priest, were doing this. But when they tried it
on a man possessed by a demon, the demon replied, “I know Jesus and I know
Paul, but who are you?” And he leaped on two of them and beat them up, so that
they fled out of his house naked and badly injured.” Acts 19v13-16 (TLB)
Prayer
Father,
we thank You so much for the authority that we have as believers. We thank You
Lord God Almighty for the love You have for us. Indeed we continue to keep our
trust in You and in Your Son Jesus. Thank You for the victories in Jesus name
we pray, amen.
