A Gathering

“So overflowing is His kindness toward us that He took away all our sins through the blood of His Son, by whom we are saved; and He has showered down upon us the richness of His grace – for how well He understands us and knows what is best for us at all times. God has told us His secret reason for sending Christ, a plan He decided on in mercy long ago; and that was His purpose: that when the time is ripe He will gather us all together from wherever we are – in heaven or on earth – to be with Him in Christ forever.” Ephesians 1v7-10 (TLB)

The great plan of God for us, His plan of mercy is to have us all united with Him in Christ forever. God has a Father would love His children to be with Him. Given He cannot behold iniquity, He came up with a perfect plan of redemption. Our Lord Jesus said in John 14v1-6 (AMP) that “Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me. In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you. And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. And [to the place] where I am going, you know the way. Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.” Jesus is indeed the Way to the Father, and that is how the Father intended it to be. Thank God for His salvation and His love and for sending Jesus to die for us. The Father doesn’t want anyone to perish but all to come to repentance, recognizing that we are sinners that have been separated from a holy God, who has offered a lifeline to us in the person of His Son Jesus Christ.

Prayer

Father, we thank You for this day. We thank You for the salvation of our souls. We thank You for Your love for us. We thank You for Jesus. We thank You for all that You have done for us. Blessed be Your holy name forevermore. Indeed Lord Jesus, we believe that You are the Son of God, who died for us; we thank You and accept what You have done and confess You as our Lord and personal Saviour. May we truly live lives that glorify You in everyway in Jesus name, amen.
