The End
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope
well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“But the end of all things is at hand:
….” 1 Peter 4v7 (KJV)
“The end of the world is coming soon.
….” 1 Peter 4v7 (NLT)
“But the end and culmination of all things has now come near; ….” 1 Peter 4v7
(AMP)
One thing this verse highlights is that
the end of the world is coming soon. Are you prepared to meet your Lord and
Maker? This is not a scare tactic to make you give your life to Christ or to
follow the Lord more closely. But it is a serious consideration. While you are
alive, there is hope. Ecclesiastes 9v4 (NIV) tells us “Anyone who is among the
living has hope – even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!” We can
deceive everyone around us but we cannot deceive the Lord. 1 Samuel 16v9 (AMP)
says “… Look not on his appearance or at the height of his stature, for I have
rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward
appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” Now, there may be those you know,
or perhaps you yourself have become a skeptic saying that oh, we have been
hearing this for a long time. The Bible actually tells us that: “Above all, you
must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and
following their own desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ He
promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the
beginning of creation.” (2 Peter 3v3-4, NIV). Don’t join the mockers and the
scoffers. Search yourself!
Romans 13v11-14 (AMP) cautions us with
these words: “Besides this you know what [a critical] hour this is, how it is
high time now for you to wake up out of your sleep (rouse to reality). For
salvation (final deliverance) is nearer to us now than when we first believed
(adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Christ, the Messiah). The night is far
gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop (fling away) the works and deeds of darkness and put on the
[full] armor of light. Let us live and
conduct ourselves honorably and
becomingly as in the [open light of] day, not in reveling (carousing) and
drunkenness, not in immorality and debauchery (sensuality and licentiousness),
not in quarreling and jealousy. But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ
(the Messiah), and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [put a stop to
thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature] to [gratify its]
desires (lusts).”
Prayer
Heavenly Father I thank You so much for today. Lord, grant me the grace
to follow You forever and to be sensitive
