Won’t You Come (3)
Won’t You Come (3)
Hello everyone. I trust this finds you well and
bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the privilege of being able to come to
Him and the fact that He really wants us to come.
Primary Text
John 6:35 (TLB): “Jesus replied, “I am the Bread of Life. No
one coming to me will ever be hungry again. Those believing in me will never
thirst.”
John 6:35 (AMPC): “Jesus replied to them, “I am the Bread of
Life. The one who comes to Me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in
Me [as Savior] will never be thirsty [for that one will be
sustained spiritually].”
Now, not only is Jesus
telling us to come to Him as we have been looking at, He is also giving the
assurance of who He is – the Bread of Life. Bread has been used over time as
symbolic of the basic food that people eat, across a lot of cultures. God
provides what we need; Jesus is the Bread of Life. We are even told as
believers that God will not have us worry about what to eat, or drink, or put
on, because He will provide for us (see Matthew 6:25-36). Separately, Jesus
will also quench the spiritual thirst of all who come to Him and believe in Him.
We are spiritual beings living in a physical body and we have need of spiritual
fulfillment. Come to Jesus and He will meet all of your needs for life, and
godliness. Amen.
Prayer
Father, we thank You so
much for this day. Thank You for Jesus is the Bread of Life, who can meet our
every need, and thirst. Jesus, we come to You, for the Bread of Life, we
believe You are the Son of God, we will keep our faith in You, and we know, You
will fill us spiritually in Jesus name, amen.
