An Invaluable Opportunity (3)
Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. Happy New Month. I pray this would be one of great joy and jubilation for you and yours in Jesus name, amen. James 1v2-4 (AMPC) says “Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.” Beloved, we have been looking at these verses for a few days. Today, we consider the result of trials and proving of our faith. The Bible here is saying it would bring out endurance, steadfastness, and patience, and if we allow these to do a thorough work, we will be people who are perfectly and fully developed, without defects, and lacking in nothing. Amen.
I am reminded of the fruit of the
Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
and self-control, against which there is no law. I can see how through the trials
and work expressed in James 1v2-4, these attributes are developed in us. We
also obtain the promises of God with patience, Hebrews 6v15 (KJV) in speaking
of Abraham, tells us that “And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained
the promise.” Child of God, embrace everything that might present itself as a
trial and see it indeed as an invaluable opportunity for growth in patience and
endurance, perfection, maturity, and the attainment of promises. Amen.
Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for
this day. Thank You for the invaluable opportunities that You provide for us to
grow and become perfect and fully developed, lacking nothing. I pray according
to 1 Peter 1v10 – 11 that after you have suffered a little while, the God of
all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own]
eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you
ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.
To Him be the dominion (power, authority, rule) forever and ever. Amen (so be
it)
