The Gift of Salvation

Dearly Beloved. Happy New Year. I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. I pray that this year you will be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love; that you will experience how high, how deep, how long and how wide the love of God is. I pray that you will really come to know practically, through your own experience, the love of Christ which exceeds mere knowledge without experience, that you may be wholly filled and flooded with God Himself in Jesus name, amen (from Ephesians 3v17-19).

We thank God for how He exhibited His love for us through the gift of salvation. It is indeed a gift because we are saved and made righteous through our faith in God. Romans 4:1-5 (NLT) says Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God? If his good deeds had made him acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about. But that was not God’s way. For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.” Hallelujah. Let’s praise God because of our faith and belief in God has made us right with Him.
