Glory in the Lord
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“So
then, as it is written, Let him who boasts and proudly rejoices and glories,
boast and proudly rejoice and glory in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1v31 (AMP)
Child
of God, different and distinct from the other person, is this making you
boastful? Do you find yourself wiser, richer, more skillful, from a more noble
household than the next person. Well, one way to put things into perspective is
to remember 1 Corinthians 4v7 (KJV) which asks these questions: “For who maketh
thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that that thou didst not
receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst
not received it?” 1 Corinthians 1v31 encourages us that if we would boast or
glory or proudly rejoice, let us do it in the Lord. For really, all that we
have comes from Him and all that we are, He has made us to be.
Supplementary Text
“Take
a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t
see many of “the brightest and the best” among you, not many influential, not
many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose
men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these
“nobodies” to expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”? That makes it
quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God.
Everything that we have – right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a
fresh start – comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have the
saying, “If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God.” 1 Corinthians
1v26-31 (MSG)
Prayer
Father,
we thank You so much for this day. We thank You for Your goodness and Your
mercies, and all that You have given to us. We make our boast in You O Lord,
giving You all the glory for our lives in Jesus name, amen.
