The presence of God (2)
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“For
I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, that our forefathers were all under
and protected by the cloud [in which God’s presence went before them], and
every one of them passed safely through the [Red] Sea,” 1 Corinthians 10v1
(AMP)
The
Bible tells us that in the presence of God there is fullness of joy. I don’t
know if you have ever spent time with perhaps family and friends, and there was
a lot of joy, laughter, reminiscing and you felt, this was good. The dictionary
describes joy as great happiness, or something that brings happiness. Isaiah 61v1-3
(AMP) tells us “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has
anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the
poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to
proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of
the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound, To proclaim the acceptable
year of the Lord [the year of His favor] and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn, To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in
Zion – to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of
ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise
instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit – that they may be called oaks
of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for
uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord,
that He may be glorified.” God brings deliverance, healing, He gives joy for
sorrow, He sets captives free, brings deliverance, and love in a home where
there was no love. Indeed, in the presence of God there is fullness of joy.
Supplementary Text
“One
thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and
[insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His
presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the
sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to
meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.” Psalm 27v4 (AMP)
Prayer
Heavenly
Father, I thank You for Your Word. We bless You for the joy that Your presence
brings. Father, we desire and pray that we will dwell in Your presence all the
days of our lives, to behold and gaze upon the sweet attractiveness and the
delightful loveliness of the Lord and to meditate, consider and inquire in Your
temple in Jesus name, amen.
