Pleasing God
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. The Bible
tells us to “Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you your heart’s
desires.” Psalm 37v4 (NLT). Are you allowing God to be your full sufficiency or
are you allowing your carnal self to dominate your lifestyle?
Primary
Text
““Now
the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is
death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and
hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both
now and forever]. [That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal
thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to
God’s Law; indeed it cannot. So then those who are living the life of the flesh
[catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please
or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.” Romans 8v6-8 (AMP)
Beloved,
are you ignoring God by placing yourself, your will and your desires above Him.
The fact is that the sinful nature cannot obey God’s law, and it cannot submit
itself to God. For instance, the Bible tells us that you cannot serve God and
mammon – you will love the one and hate the other. You can’t be in between. We
know too that friendship with the world is enmity with God. But as children of
God, we are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God
dwells on the inside of us (Romans 8v9). Through the Spirit of God, we are
therefore enabled to live a life that overcomes the flesh.
Prayer
Father,
I thank You for Your Word in Jesus name, amen. Thank You for Your Spirit in us
o God. I pray for more grace to stand for You and yield to You and be
completely sold out for You in Jesus name, amen.
