In the Secret Place

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
But when you pray, go away by yourself, all alone, and shut the door behind you and pray to your Father secretly, and your Father, who knows your secrets, will reward you.” Matthew 6v6 (TLB)

While there is a place for corporate worship and fellowship with the brethren, one of the things I have really come to appreciate recently is that God is with us everywhere we go; for God is a Spirit. In time past, the worship of God was relegated to one place – Jerusalem and in the temple. The Israelites used the Ark of the Covenant to depict the presence of God which they carried about with them wherever they went. But today, our very own bodies are the temple of the living God. No religion can make a boast of that; that the living God, the Almighty One dwells on the inside of them. But we thank God because He does. In that way it makes it much easier to cultivate a fellowship and a relationship with God. We can maintain constant communication with Him, even as we are encouraged in 1 Thessalonians 5v17 to pray without ceasing. In the same vein, we can set ourselves apart to meet with Him in secret – shutting out the world, people, and everything else and saying Daddy, I am here to meet with You, I am here to glorify You, I am here to seek Your face, I am here to pour my love on You. Won’t you separate yourself unto Him this day and say Father, I have come to seek you out. Imagine when you take the extra step to seeking your earthly father out, to giving him a call or letting him know that you are thinking of him. How much more God who is right there watching you and hearing you, whose ears are attentive to your call (Psalm 34v15). 1 Peter 3v12 (KJV) saying “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” Do let the Father know that You love Him and appreciate Him – always!

Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for today. Thank You for Your eyes that are upon us and Your ears that are attentive to our prayers. Thank You so much for Your love for us. Thank You for Your Spirit who is in us and with us. Thank You for the open lines of communication we have with You. Help us to maximize that to the optimum and stay in constant fellowship with You always, in Jesus name, amen.
