A life pleasing to God
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We
thank God for His mercy, His lovingkindness and tendermercies. Indeed He is

Primary Text
“Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously
given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited
us to God.” 2 Peter 1v3 (MSG)
“For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are
requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal]
knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence
(virtue).” 2 Peter 1v3 (AMP)
“By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a
godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who
called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.” 2 Peter
1v3 (NLT)
This is fantastic news. We know that in our flesh is no good thing
(Romans 7v18), but by God’s glory and excellence, His goodness, mercy, and
kindness, we have come to know God. With this knowledge of God, we have also
been given by His power everything we need to live a godly life, to live a life
that is pleasing to God. John 1v13-14 (AMP) says “But to as many as did receive
and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to
become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust
in, and rely on) His name— Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the
will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a
natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!].” As believers, we become
children of God, born of God and are given His Spirit. We can therefore live
Spirit-led lives as opposed to those that are guided by the flesh. Romans 8v5-8
(NIV) tells us that “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set
on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit
have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh
is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind
governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor
can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please
God.”
Supplementary Text
“Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to
be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into
His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He
wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious
grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son.” Ephesians 1v4-6
(NLT)
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You so much for today, and for making us
accepted in the beloved. Thank You for giving us all things that pertain to
life and godliness by Your power. We are grateful and pray that we will glorify
You in all that we do in Jesus name, amen.
