Humility and Service

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Happy new month. I pray this month would be a joyful one for you and yours in Jesus name, amen.

Primary Text
“… Clothe (apron) yourselves, all of you, with humility [as the garb of a servant, so that its covering cannot possibly be stripped from you, with freedom from pride and arrogance] toward one another…” 1 Peter 5v5 (AMP)

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death – even death on a cross!” Philippians 2v5-8 (NIV)

“For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?” 1 Corinthians 4v7 (KJV). Wow. Child of God, who made you different from your brother or sister? Who put the gifts you have in you? Who gives you the breath of life to live that you may do all that you do? What do you have that God did not give to you?

When we put things in perspective this way it is easier for us to remain humble. Pride can easily get in the way, but that is where the devil got it wrong. He lost the truth of the matter. May God grant us the grace never to lose sight of who the true Master, Rewarder, Promoter, and Endower is, in Jesus name, amen. 1 Peter 3v10-11 (NIV) says “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever, Amen.”

Prayer
Heavenly Father we thank You so much for another month and all that You are to us. Father, we are praying for humility. Uproot every thing of pride in us, and clothe us in Your humility in Jesus name we pray believing You will do this and with thanksgiving for doing it, amen.
