Thank You God (last DE for 2020)

Dearly beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the year so far, we have about 10 days till the end. It has been an interesting year, with lots of unexpected events. But through it all, our God remains constant. This will be the last daily encouragement for this year. For the most part, we have been considering the book of Philippians this year. It had been a real encouragement looking at the fact that Paul was writing it out of prison, with a lot of uncertainty around him. But he mentioned that there was good that was coming out of his time in prison (Philippians 1v12; 18). We also noted how he trusted God for things he wanted (Philippians 2v19, 24).

Child of God, regardless of the uncertainty of tomorrow, let us hold onto our God. Let’s know that God is doing a work in us, it is a good work, and He will continue to develop, perfect and bring that good work to full completion in you (Philippians 1v6). Now, Paul also exhorts in Philippians 2v12-13 (TLB) that “Dearest friends, when I was there with you, you were always so careful to follow my instructions. And now that I am away you must be even more careful to do the good things that result from being saved, obeying God with deep reverence, shrinking back from all that might displease him. For God is at work within you, helping you want to obey him, and then helping you do what he wants.” Hallelujah. Let us remember too that it is in Christ that we have our identity and that everything pales in comparison to knowing Him and being intimate with Him (Philippians 3v7-10). I do wish you a merry Christmas indeed and a fulfilling 2021 where you walk in intimacy and closeness with God more than ever before in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer

From Philippians 1:9-11 (AMPC) I pray “And this I pray: that your love may abound yet more and more and extend to its fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight [that your love may display itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more comprehensive discernment], So that you may surely learn to sense what is vital, and approve and prize what is excellent and of real value [recognizing the highest and the best, and distinguishing the moral differences], and that you may be untainted and pure and unerring and blameless [so that with hearts sincere and certain and unsullied, you may approach] the day of Christ [not stumbling nor causing others to stumble].  May you abound in and be filled with the fruits of righteousness (of right standing with God and right doing) which come through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One), to the honor and praise of God [that His glory may be both manifested and recognized].
