A Clear Conscience!!!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in
the Lord.
Primary Text
“… Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against
you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you
belong to Christ.” 1 Peter 3v16 (NLT)
Even as you continue to sanctify the Lord in your heart, and
to worship Him, another thing Peter by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit says
is to keep your conscience entirely clear. Is your conscience trying to tell
you one thing or the other? Listen. 2 Corinthians 1v12 (NLT) says “[Paul’s Change of Plans] We can say with
confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God-given holiness
and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our
own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and
especially toward you.” How are you conducting yourself in the world? Do you
have a clear conscience before God and man? Don’t lose your faith because you
are trying to please others. Please God. 1 Timothy 1v19 (NLT) says “Cling to
your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have
deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been
shipwrecked.” When you have a clear conscience before God, and you are walking
in His ways, and remain in Christ, regardless of how people might make a
mockery of you, 1 Peter 3v16 (NLT) says “… Then if people speak against you,
they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong
to Christ.” Amen. But ultimately remember, that God is the judge of all, and He
is the One who will judge our every motive.
Supplementary Text
“I care
very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even
judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is
the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait
until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and
will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their
praise from God.” 1 Corinthians 4v3-5 (NIV)
Father, we worship and adore You. Thank
You for being our God. Help us to keep a clear conscience before You and men.
We know too that it is not him who commends himself that is commended, but him
who you commend. Father, please lead us by Your Spirit to live lives that
glorify and please You, in Jesus name, amen.
