Love as Brethren – Endure all things
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in
the Lord.
Primary Text
“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of
another, love as brethren …” 1 Peter 3v8 (KJV)
Psalm
100v5 (NIV) tells us “For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His
faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 118v1 says “Give thanks
to the LORD, for He is good; His loves endures forever.” Hallelujah! If asked,
one can say with certainty that our God is good and His love endures forever. 1
Corinthians 13v7 gives us yet another characteristic of love, which is that it
“endureth all things” (KJV); “always perseveres” (NIV); “endures through every
circumstance” (NLT); “endures everything [without weakening]” (AMP); “keeps
going to the end” (MSG). As believers, we should let our love towards our
brethren endure, let it last, let it persevere under every situation – through
the good, the bad, the tough, the trying times. God’s love towards us endures
forever. Romans 8v35-39 (see below) expounds on this. Child of God, even as God
as loved us, let us love our brethren. Let our love for them endure through and
under every circumstance. 1 John 4v7 (AMP) says “Beloved, let us love one
another, for love is (springs) from God; and He who loves [his fellowmen] is
begotten (born) of God and is coming [progressively] to know and understand God
[to perceive and recognize and get a better and a clearer knowledge of Him].” 1 John 3v16 (AMP) also tells us “By this
we come to know (progressively to recognize, to perceive, to understand) the
[essential] love: that He laid down His [own] life for us; and we ought to lay
[our] lives down for [those who are our] brothers [in Him].”
Supplementary Text
“Can anything ever separate us from
Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or
calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or
threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For Your sake we are killed
every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” No, despite all these things,
overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced
that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about
tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No
power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation
will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in
Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8v35-39 (NLT)
Father, I thank You for You are good
and Your love endures forever. I thank You because Your love is shed abroad in
my heart by Your Spirit and love springs from You. Thank You because of the
fruit, a manifestation of the presence of Your Spirit within my life includes
love, and love endures all things. I yield to You precious Holy Spirit of God
and choose to continue to endure in love towards my brethren, in Jesus name,
amen.
