Jesus (2)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in
the Lord.
Primary Text
“Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never
sinned, but He died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered
physical death, but He was raised to life in the Spirit.” 1 Peter 3v18 (NLT)
Christ suffered physical death in the His body. But He was
raised to life in the Spirit. Hallelujah. Colossians 1v21-23 (NIV) says “Once
you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil
behavior. But now He had reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death
to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation – if
you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope
held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been
proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a
servant.” We thank God for the reconciliation that we have with God through
what Christ suffered on the Cross. And now 1 Peter 4v1-2 (NLT) encourages us
that “So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves
with the same attitude He had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have
suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. You won’t spend the
rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the
will of God.” Now that Christ has suffered for us, and have accepted Him, we
are His, and live for His glory. 2 Corinthians 5v15 says “He died for everyone
so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves.
Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.” Amen.
Supplementary Text
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I,
but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by
the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Galatians
2v20 (KJV)
Prayer
Father, we thank You for today. We thank You for Christ
dying for us. Father, we pray indeed that we will live for Christ, and for the
will of God in Jesus name, amen.
