An ever-present Strengthener
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on
this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“May our Lord Jesus
Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting
comfort and hope, which we don’t deserve,” 2 Thessalonians 2v16 (TLB)
Our God has given us
the Holy Spirit as our Comforter, and one thing that He does is to strengthen
us. John 14v16-17 (AMP) saying “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you
another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and
Standby), that He may remain with you forever – The Spirit of Truth, Whom the
world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him
or know Him or recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with
you [constantly] and will be in you.” Strength is also synonymous to power,
might, force and asset among other things. Human beings need strength and power
to achieve carry out each of our daily tasks. As believers we also need
strength and power for everything that we need. Isaiah 40v28-31 (TLB) says
“Don’t you yet understand? Don’t you know by now that the everlasting God, the
Creator of the farthest parts of the earth, never grows faint or weary? No one
can fathom the depths of His understanding. He gives power to the tired and
worn out, and strength to the weak. Even the youths shall be exhausted, and the
young men will all give up. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their
strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be
weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Beloved, are you feeling worn out,
exhausted, pressured, discouraged, God is the strength of our life and our
portion forever! The Bible tells us that even the youth get exhausted, but
those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; one way in which He
strengthens us being through the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 3v16 (AMP) says “May He
grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and
reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself
indwelling your innermost being and personality].”
Prayer
Father, we thank You
and we honour You. We pray that You will strengthen and reinforce us with
mighty power in the inner man by the Holy Spirit in Jesus name, amen.
