The Principal Thing

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His loving-kindness and tender mercies, and His faithfulness. If God calls something important, then it must be so. Proverbs 4v7 (AMPC) says “The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).”

In the scripture above, the Lord lets us know that Wisdom is the principal thing. For something to be principal, means it is main, major, most important, primary, prime, key, foremost, basic and fundamental. Wisdom is very very important. Proverbs 4v5 (AMPC) tells us that “Get skillful and godly Wisdom, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation); do not forget and do not turn back from the words of my mouth.”

The foundation and root of Wisdom is the fear of the Lord. Proverbs 1v7 (AMPC) says “The reverent fear and worship of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and skill [the preceding and the first essential, the prerequisite and the alphabet]; a good understanding, wisdom, and meaning have all those who do [the will of the Lord]. Their praise of Him endures forever. [Job. 28:28; Prov. 1:7; Matt. 22:37, 38; Rev. 14:7.].

Prayer

Father, we thank You so much for Your Wisdom. We thank You for letting us know that Wisdom is very important. We ask for Your Wisdom o God, that skillful and godly Wisdom, as well as understanding. Thank You dear Lord in Jesus name we pray, amen.
