A Study of Psalm 3
Dearly Beloved. I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We will be looking over Psalm 3 for the next few days. Psalm 3v1 says:
AMPC: “Lord,
how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.”
The Message: God!
Look! Enemies past counting! Enemies sprouting like mushrooms, Mobs of them all
around me, …
NLT: “O Lord,
I have so many enemies; so many are against me.”
Psalm
3 was written by David at a time when he was fleeing from his son Absalom. In
life, we will have troubles and tribulations – and it can come in different
forms. It could be emotional, financial, health challenges, family issues, stress,
fatigue, betrayal, confusion … The important thing is how we respond to them.
One thing we know is that God will have us live a life of peace and rest. John
16v33 (AMPC) says “I have told
you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence.
In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration;
but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I
have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have
conquered it for you.]” Furthermore, in Philippians 4v6-7 (NLT) we are told “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about
everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then
you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His
peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Child of God, don’t
worry; be at peace. Then pray about every situation and challenge – regardless
of how many they are.
Prayer
Father, we thank You for
being our help and succour. Thank You for being so dependable and wanting us to
be at peace. We bring every issue and storm to You, and speak peace to them in
Jesus name, amen. We receive and bask in Your peace, knowing all is well in Jesus
name, amen.
