Don’t fear that Jericho!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His mercies, His grace and His love for us. Grace and peace be multiplied in Jesus name, amen.

“And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art Thou for us, or for our adversaries?
And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
And the captain of the LORD’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
NOW Jericho was straightly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.” Joshua 5v13-6v2

For the children of Israel, Jericho represented a place which God had given to them to overcome. But Jericho was also a very mighty place, which could be a cause of intimidation to any normal eye. For the child of God, intimidation may come from different avenues. It could be at work, on the streets, from another person, it could be something that you know that God has given to you but it looks unreachable. But the funny thing is that the Jericho that you are scared of, is very terrified of the God who is with you (Joshua 2v11), “…for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.” Yes, His ways are definitely not our ways, but with God, know that the Jericho will come crashing down. Hallelujah. That’s why the Bible says:

“Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who lives in the world.” 1 John 4v4 (Amplified Bible)

Amen. Have a very blessed day.

Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for this day which You have made, which we can rejoice and be glad in. We thank You for the Greater One who is on the inside of us. Lord we submit ourselves under Your mighty hand today, and we come against every spirit of intimidation that we might have allowed to take a hold upon our lives, and we say they be gone in the name of Jesus, amen. Any intimidation that has come, we command you to be gone in the name of Jesus. We thank You because You always cause us to triumph in all things in Jesus Christ, and we thank You because we have the mind of Christ. Blessed be Your holy name forevermore, in Jesus name, amen.
