Hush – careful what you say!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His mercies and grace over us. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in Jesus name, amen. Perhaps there is a need you are looking up to God for and you have started doubting in your heart if God could. Stop. Don’t do that. Encourage yourself in the Lord.

There was a situation that happened in the land of Samaria, where the country had been besieged by the Syrians. The situation was getting so dire, and food so scarce that two women came to the decision to kill their children and eat them, and they actually ate one of the women’s children, but the other one could not go through with the plan and kill her own child. The dung of doves was being sold for 5 pieces of silver and an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver (2 Kings 6v24-25). That’s how bad things were. But regardless of how bad things are, be careful what you say. For instance, in this case we see how the Bible tells us that:

“THEN ELISHA said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not eat thereof.” 2 Kings 7v1-2

And we know later on in the chapter (1 Kings 7v18-20), things happened just as the man of God had said.

“And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be tomorrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:

And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shall not eat thereof.

And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died.” 2 Kings 7v18-20

God’s Word is dependable, it is True, it is Real. Trust Him.

And so Heavenly Father we pray that in any way we have spoken amiss concerning You, anyway we have spoken in doubt or unbelief concerning You and the Kingdom, for whatever reason, under whatever circumstance, in wherever place, please have mercy upon us and forgive us for this, and every other sin we might have committed knowingly or unknowingly in our words or thoughts or deeds, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, in Jesus name, amen. (If you remember in particular things that you may have said or done that are amiss, you can mention it to Him, for His Word says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us for all our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in Jesus name, amen – 1 John 1v9)

And perhaps you do not even know the Lord as your Lord and personal Saviour. You may never have asked Him to be your Lord and Master. If you would like to do so, you can say this prayer – Heavenly Father, I come to You today, confessing that I am a sinner. I am sorry for all that I have done and ask that You forgive me for all of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Lord Jesus, I ask that You be Lord and Saviour over my life. Thank You Father for translating me out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Your dear Son. Thank You for sealing me with Your Holy Spirit of promise. Please keep me till the end in You, and may Your Name alone be glorified in my life, in Jesus name I pray, amen.

If you said this prayer today, know that you are now a child of God and that there is much jubilation in heaven because of you. Begin to attend a Bible-believing church, and keep the faith! Welcome into God’s family.
