An Invaluable Opportunity (2)

Dearly Beloved. I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. Have you ever met a Christian, a mature Christian who has walked with the Lord for a long time and who doesn’t ever seem rattled or moved by any situation or circumstance regardless of how dire it might look? Take our Lord Jesus for example, in that experience in Mark 4, where He and His disciples were in the boat and a furious storm arose and the waves were beating against the boat and the disciples were afraid. All along, Jesus was asleep in the boat, “… and they awoke Him and said to Him, Master, do You not care that we are perishing? And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its beating) and there was [immediately] a great calm (a perfect peacefulness). He said to them, Why are you so timid and fearful? How is it that you have no faith (no firmly relying trust)? And they were filled with great awe and feared exceedingly and said one to another, Who then is this, that even the wind and sea obey Him?” (Mark 4v38-41, AMPC). Hallelujah.

When we have trouble, difficulty, and trial, it proves your faith to bring out endurance, steadfastness, and patience. It pushes the limit of your belief and trust in God and gives you in a sense those opportunities to taste and see that the Lord is good. Embrace such opportunities as you will be able to say God, I don’t know how You are going to do it, but I know You will, and when You see how God eventually works it out, Your faith continues to grow and You can also encourage others. Praise the Lord.

Prayer

Father, we thank You so much for Your mercy and grace. We thank You for the trying of our faith which is much more precious than gold. We are grateful for the chance for our faith and patience and endurance to grow. We thank You for all these things and pray we will always have the right attitude when faced with trials and difficulties in Jesus name, amen.
