10 November 2009 – Wait on Him
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in Jesus name, amen. We thank God for the 10th day of November, before you know it, we will be in 2010. Praise the Lord. The Bible says that:
“For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain and as an ensign on an hill.
And therefore shall the LORD wait, that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.” Isaiah 30v15-18
A lot of times, we want to take matters into our own hands, and find solutions for ourselves. The most rigorous solution seems to be the best option, and we tend to leave God out of the equation. But God is saying: “…Only in returning to Me and resting in Me will ye be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength” (Isaiah 30v15,NLT). If you decide to take matters into your own hands, you will become worn out, the situation would only seem to get worse, as your enemies will seem to be pursuing you faster, the faster you run, and that in your own strength.
So what is the solution – God is saying He is waiting so that He will be gracious to you, and we know that His grace is sufficient for us (2 Corinthians 12:9). He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. Don’t worry about what the outcome of the matter would be, like would God really give the best solution? He is a God of judgment. Another translation says He is faithful. So wait for Him:
“… Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless unbroken companionship]!” (Isaiah 30v18, AMP)
Have a very blessed day.
