Obedience (2)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His presence with us, that even when no one is around, He is with us. We thank God also for the power to pray, and take different issues and pour out our heart to Him. Blessed be His holy name in Jesus name, amen. Still continuing with obedience and what was shared by a friend:
Secondly, sometimes The Lord will call us to do things that make absolutely no sense to us but we must obey nonetheless. In the sixth chapter of Joshua, before the walls of Jericho came down, the Lord told the people to silently march around the city once a day for six days. On the seventh day, they were to silently march around seven times and at the end of the seventh march, they were to shout. Now I can just picture the sarcastic people of Jericho saying: What are these people doing marching around like idiots? What kind of military strategy is this? Where are their siege weapons and battering rams? Don’t you think even the soldiers of Israel wondered what all this was about? But they obeyed God and the walls of Jericho came down.
The point here is that you might be marching around your wall of Jericho right now. You’re wondering why God has you in the situation you are in, doing what you’re doing. Continue to obey God and do what He has called you to do. At the end you too will shout and the walls that have held you back will come crashing down. God’s instructions don’t have to make sense to us. They just have to be obeyed.
Finally, the merciful God we serve doesn’t even leave obedience entirely up to us. No, we proved in the Garden of Eden and in all of human history up until the coming of Christ that we need help in obeying. So in speaking of a new covenant that he would make, the Lord says in Ezekiel Chapter 36:25 “And I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments and do them”.
Basically, The Lord is saying I know it’s not about your strength to obey or your will power. You have tried to obey me and you have failed. Now I’m going to give you My Holy Spirit, He will do the work of obedience through you. You just have to trust him and believe in him. It doesn’t absolve you of responsibility – your part is to have faith, believe and call on Jesus. You have to want to obey to do this. Therefore, many times when we disobey God, it’s not because the power to obey does not exist, It’s because no matter what our lips may say, our hearts never wanted to obey Him.

Has the Lord been asking you to do something, and you keep putting it off? Why don’t you get to doing it.
Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your word to us and all that You are to us. Father we pray for the grace to do all of Your will all of the time in Jesus name, amen.
