Jesus (2)!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text: Hebrews 12v2
“Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Just think of Him Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison to your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds.” Hebrews 12v2-3 (AMP)
Are you going through a tough time, a challenging situation - consider Jesus. He went through grievous opposition, and bitter hostility. He was beaten! He was spat at! He suffered great shame. He endured the cross. But He bore it all. Why? Because of love, for the prize, for you and I. He didn’t have to do it, but He did. He loves you very very much. Are you losing heart? Do you feel like fainting? Are you growing weary and being exhausted with this Christian race? Not only do we have others that have gone before us? We also have Jesus to look to. Fix your eyes on Him. Fix your attention on Him. He is even now interceding for you. You have people rooting for you to win. God is on your side. He doesn’t have pleasure when you look back. Keep on running this race. Consider Jesus.
Supplementary Text
“So it is evident that it was essential that He be made like His brethren in every respect, in order that He might become a merciful (sympathetic) and faithful High Priest in the things related to God, to make atonement and propitiation for the people’s sins. For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried) He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering].” Hebrews 2v17-18 (AMP)
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word. We pray for as many believers as are going through tough times. Father I pray that they be encouraged, that Jesus You will make the reality of all that You are to us known to them in Jesus name, Amen.
