Love as Brethren!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in
the Lord.
Primary Text
“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of
another, love as brethren …” 1 Peter 3v8 (KJV)
“Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love
one another …” 1 Peter 3v8 (NIV)
“Finally, all of [you] should be of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing [with one
another], loving [each other] as brethren [of one household] …” 1 Peter 3v8 (AMP)
Included in the fruit of the Spirit is love. 1 John 4v7-8
(AMP) says “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God;
and he who loves [his fellowmen] is begotten (born) of God and is coming
[progressively] to know and understand
God [to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Hum].
He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did
know Him], for God is love.” God has accepted us, and shown His love toward us,
let us love one another. As children of God, we are brothers and sisters in
Him. Within the structure of a home, we have the parents, then siblings.
Biologically, they are bound together, and you can see some physical and even
behavioral resemblances among them. With believers, we have God as our Father,
we have the Spirit of God in us and have Jesus as our Lord. We have the blood
of Jesus. Let us walk in love towards one another. Some of you are familiar
with the song: We will stand. The chorus “You’re my brother, you’re my sister,
so take me by the hand, together we will work, till He comes, there’s no foe
that can defeat us, when walking side by side, as long as there is love, we
will stand.
Supplementary Text
“By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if
you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves].” John
13v35 (AMP)
Father, we thank You for showing us Your love. We thank You
for our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Thank You for the love of God that is
shed abroad in our hearts by Your Spirit. Help us Lord to walk in love towards
one another in Jesus name, amen.
