12 August 2015: Good Things
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary
Text
“If
ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much
more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask
Him?” Matthew 7v11 (KJV)
Many
have been looking unto the Lord for one thing or the other. We may be praying
for our marriages, jobs, families, salvation for a loved one, financial
breakthrough; a number of different things. Matthew 7v11 (TLB) says “And if you
hard-hearted, sinful men know how to give good gifts to your children, won’t
your Father in heaven even more certainly give good gifts to those who ask Him
for them?” While there is an element of asking God for us to receive, we also
need to trust God. Psalm 139 talks of how God knows us, our uprising, our
sitting down, how He understands our thoughts. Indeed God knows us, what His
plans for us are and what is best for us. God’s thoughts towards you are good,
and His plans for you are the best (Jeremiah 29v11), and He does want to give
you good things. Romans 8v32 (AMP) says “He who did not withhold or spare
[even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely
and graciously give us all [other] things?” Hebrews 11v6 (AMP) encourages us
that “But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him.
For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists
and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him
[out].” Amen.
Prayer
Father,
I thank You because You are a good God. There is none like You, none as holy,
true and good as You are. We thank You for the good things that You have given
to us and continue to give to us. Father, we thank You for those things that we
have asked You for. We thank You because Your Word which says ask and it shall
be given unto you, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened
unto you is true. We thank You for this O God. I know and believe that You give
good things to those who ask of You and that You reward those who diligently
seek You. The grace to wait upon You, please grant unto us in Jesus name, amen.
What a privilege it is to seek You and to know You. Blessed be Your holy name forevermore
in Jesus name, amen.
