Cast your cares

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5v7 (NLT)

“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.” 1 Peter 5v7 (AMP)

Child of God, God is in control. Nothing catches Him by surprise and there is nothing that He cannot handle. So why are you worrying? Hebrews 12v1 encourages us to lay aside every weight. Synonyms for weight include heaviness, bulk, burden, mass, load and encumbrance. The verse specifically says “Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,” (AMP). There is a journey that we are on, a journey of faith, patience needing a lot of endurance. There are those who have gone ahead of us, men and women of faith, who despite what they experienced trusted in God (see Hebrews 11). On this path, we would encounter troubles, trials and tribulations, as the Lord Jesus told us we would face in the world. But He also told us to be of good cheer: “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” (John 16v33, AMP). So child of God, why don’t you cast your cares to Him, and do not permit yourself to be worried, anxious, discouraged and distressed. Know that God is with you. And so hear Him when He says “Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice” (Isaiah 41v10, AMP).
