The Spirit and Power for Perfection (2)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
Then
he said to me, This [addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to
yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees] is the word of the Lord
to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom
the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts. For who are you, O great mountain
[of human obstacles]? Before Zerubbabel [who with Joshua had led the return of
the exiles from Babylon and was undertaking the rebuilding of the temple,
before him] you shall become a plain [a mere molehill]! And he shall bring
forth the finishing gable stone [of the new temple] with loud shoutings of the
people, crying, Grace, grace to it! Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this house; his hands
shall also finish it. Then you shall know (recognize and understand) that the
Lord of hosts has sent me [His messenger] to you. Who [with reason] despises
the day of small things? For these seven shall rejoice when they see the
plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel. [These seven] are the eyes of the Lord which
run to and fro throughout the whole earth.” Zechariah 4v6-10 (AMP)
I was reminded once again that the fight we fight as believers is not a
physical one, but spiritual. 2 Corinthians 10v3-6 (KJV) tells us that “For though we walk in the flesh,
we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge
of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is
fulfilled.” Ephesians 6v12 (KJV) also highlights how we wrestle not against
flesh and blood “but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” And so we
have to put on the whole armor of God. Zerubbabel faced a great mountain of
obstacles, seemingly human, but the solution God gave to him was spiritual –
not by power, not by might, but by the Spirit of God. What is that great
mountain that is standing before you right now, believer take your place and
your authority as a king and a priest unto our God, put on your armour and pull
them down in Jesus name, amen.
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word. We thank You for the mighty weapons
we have in You to fight. We pray for wisdom for every battle and the spirit of
grace and intercession to always pray in Jesus name, amen.
