Walking in the Fear of the Lord
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Where is the man who fears the Lord? God will
teach him how to choose the best. He shall live within God’s circle of
blessing, and his children shall inherit the earth. Friendship with God is
reserved for those who reverence Him. With them alone He shares the secrets of
His promises.” Psalm 25v12-14 (TLB)
“Who is the man
who reverently fears and worships the Lord? Him shall He teach
in the way that he should choose. He himself shall dwell at ease, and his
offspring shall inherit the land. The secret [of the sweet, satisfying
companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He
will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep,
inner] meaning.” Psalm 25v12-14 (AMP)
There is a difference between having the knowledge
of the Word and the will of God, and actually putting it into practice. One of
the things that causes a man to obey the Lord is the fear of the Lord. But we
find that there are many benefits to fearing the Lord. For one, God reserves His
guidance for those who fear Him; for it is the one who fears Him that would be
sensitive to do His will. We see for example Joseph fleeing from Potiphar’s
wife, instead of sinning against the Lord, or the three Hebrew children
choosing not to bow down to the golden image of the king – because of their
fear of the Lord. Beloved, are you walking in the fear of the Lord this day?
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word. We thank
You for the blessings that accrue to those that fear You. May we walk always in
the fear of the Lord. Grant us the spirit of the fear of the Lord in Jesus
name, amen.
