Patience in waiting (1)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“But as for that [seed] in the good soil, these are [the people] who, hearing the Word, hold it fast in a just (noble, virtuous) and worthy heart, and steadily bring forth fruit with patience.” Luke 8v15 (AMPC)

““But the seed in the good earth—these are the good-hearts who seize the Word and hold on no matter what, sticking with it until there’s a harvest.” (Luke 8v15, MSG)

In the Christian race, great patience is required. Patience as we wait on God to fulfill His promises, patience as we become all that He wants us to be, patience as we learn to trust and wait on the Lord, patience in trials and tribulations. James 1v2-4 (AMP) for example says “Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.” In the parable of the sower, seen above, we are told that the people who bring forth fruit, do so steadily with patience. Synonyms for patience include endurance, tolerance, fortitude, and persistence. Hebrews 6v11-12 (NLT) says “Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.” Our God Himself is a very patient God. One of the fruit of the Spirit is patience, and I pray that we will continually be filled with the Spirit and exercise patience in all things in Jesus name, amen.

Supplementary Text and Prayer
“[We pray] that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy, Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God’s holy people) in the Light.” Colossians 1v11-12 (AMPC)

“We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy,  always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.” Colossians 1v11-12 (NLT)
